I grew up in Alberta, Canada, and I love showcasing the beautiful Rocky Mountains and wonderful nearby scenery, and it’s no wonder I grew up with a passion for nature and adventure!

I became a travel agent because I have a lifelong passion ...

One of my first international trips, without my parents, was  on my honeymoon!  And what a fantastic memory it was!  We decided to combine two trips into one with the recommendation of our travel advisor, and what a wonderful decision.  It is a little more complicated when you do this but a travel advisor can guide and assist you when planning these types of honeymoons.

Our first stop was Disneyland!  At 23 years of age, this was my first time at Disneyland and it was exhilarating!  The old saying, "You are never too old for Disneyland"  is totally true!  We had two days of absolute fun being BIG KIDS!  HINT:  If it rains in Disneyland, don't run to your hotel, get a rain poncho, and get to the rides!  Line ups are very short when it rains!

On to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the  friendliest city in the world!  We stayed at the Buenaventura which is still in operation today.  It is a smaller resort but was perfect for our first trip to Mexico!  I will say, that I was a little fussy with the food but of course, that was 35 years ago and both Mexico and my taste buds have matured immensely!  We were married the end of August so being in Mexico the beginning of September is the rainy season.  But it did not stop us from having fun!  The ocean can be a little murky from the run off of the rain but it honestly did not rain that much, usually just a short downpour or drizzle late in the afternoon and then the sun would come out again.  Actually, it was kind of refreshing and a break from the September heat.

Some great activities that we did were  snorkeling, horseback riding, and exploring the markets!  All were very enjoyable with a couple minor incidents.  Words of wisdom; bring your own snorkel equipment if you are particular (mine was repaired with a stapler).  Secondly, if horseback riding, make sure the experienced rider gets the frisky horse!  Also, don't forget to go to the Malecon Boardwalk!

All in all it was a fantastic honeymoon and I am grateful for the memories!  Since then I have been to Disneyland 2 more times and Disneyworld 5 times, all with children, and each time is as incredible as the next!  But, I do believe it is time to go back to Puerto Vallarta!  Hola!!
