I grew up in Alberta, Canada, and I love showcasing the beautiful Rocky Mountains and wonderful nearby scenery, and it’s no wonder I grew up with a passion for nature and adventure!

I became a travel agent because I have a lifelong passion ...

Hello, welcome to my first travel blog for travel lovers!  I have been a travel agent for 11 years but have 16 years experience in the travel business, but I have been a travel lover my whole life!

My first "real" trip out of Canada was to Phoenix, Arizona when I was 17 years old with my best friend and her family.  Seems so fitting as we now have a vacation home in Phoenix and love the warm sun and never ending blue sky!  I do not like the cold so Phoenix is an amazing destination for sun lovers.  It is important to know that the end of December, and January can have cooler temperatures in Phoenix and you may need to bring a jacket.  Some of my favorite times to go to Phoenix is October, November, March and April.  You are generally going to get awesome weather but it won't be too hot or too cold.  I really don't mind the summer months but you have to really like the heat.  When I go in the summer I spend a lot of time at the pool, or in air conditioned buildings during the day.  I love the evenings in the summer!  It just feels like a nice warm blanket wrapped around you!

As far as sightseeing , there are endless places to see and explore.  I really like Sedona, and the red rocks are amazing to hike.  Of course, you have the breathtaking Grand Canyon, but that is a full day trip.  I would recommend making it a two day trip and after taking in the Grand Canyon spend the night in Sedona and explore that beautiful area the next day.  Phoenix is also fantastic for sports enthusiasts, with almost every major type of sport being available!  March is great for baseball lovers, with spring training taking place you have endless options to watch games at very reasonable prices.  Phoenix is also a golf lovers paradise!

Lastly, something that is very near and dear to our stomach's....FOOD!  There is no shortage of fantastic restaurants in Phoenix and area, that more than satisfy all types of foodies!  One of my favorite experiences was at Barrio Queen!  The guacamole was incredible and made right at my table!  And, I can't forget my favorite martini spot, The Blue Martini!

One more tip is that you will probably have to rent a vehicle in Phoenix as public transportation is not great and the cities are quite spread out.  You could stay at a resort that is close to dining and shopping, and do a couple organized tours.  Or you could rent a convertible and do your own exploring.

Now, I need to get to Phoenix....talking about it has made me miss it so much!!
